This is a note most specifically to my fellow Hoosier...Heartlandish.
In a recent post, she breaks up with one Hillary Clinton.
I am sure I will hear if I mistakenly represent her position...and I welcome that if necessary.
Obama has again failed to court blue-collar, older, and white voters. It is hard to fully say how many of these votes he would get in a race against a different, younger opponent...perhaps like my choice in 04 and 08, John Edwards.
But back to the Heartlandish: Her break-up with the big Hill sounds like its a result of the type of campaigning (perhaps negative) the Hill demonstrated in this latest Pennsylvania Primary.
I am no fool. If this was an election to vote for America's top hatchet-man (woman)...she'd win hands down.
What is it about Hill's role in this race do Dems (especially the far leftists) not get?? Hill herself may not get it, but she is playing her role well. Hill is playing dirty, but that is exactly what she should be doing. Obama HAS to prove he can win these voters over. And he has yet, in any significant state, to do so. If Hill takes votes from these race-paranoid people...doesn't it follow that McCain would also get these votes over Obama?
McCain is older, more male, more hawkish...how does Obama get those votes? Not saying it is impossible, but telling me Obama won the Oklahoma Democratic primary DOES NOT mean he has a chance in hell of winning that state come the general.
As a Hill supporter of sorts, I am calling on her to wind this down. This means within the next month. Her negatives are skyrocketing, which only makes it harder to get her elected in the general. But beware the dirty, filthy, attacks from the right Obama. You Dems, constantly bitching about the unfair, vile attacks by Hill, have no fucking perspective.
Hill's attacks you now find so vile, which they are not, will look like cotton candy when the right starts their campaign in full. Sure cool-hand McCain will deny any involvement and he will feign disgust...this is why forcing Obama to take Hill as his VP may be helpful. You may hate her now Dems...but she clearly knows how to engage in a knife fight and she can stab right back with he best of them.
So Heartlandish...I know you are upset with her. I know you are disgusted and disappointed by her tactics, but take notice and if/when Obama wins...he will owe her a big "Thank you" whether she's on the ticket or not.
Furthermore, if Obama loses to old man McCain without her on the ticket, it WILL NOT be her fault.
So, congrats to the left wing (which is my wing when it comes to values) on their selection and ascendancy of Obama. If he wins, I will love watching him work. Barring a serious setback...he should be the next President of the United States. But, I urge ye to beware the Republicans...beware, indeed.
A Good Feeling
