Darrell Issa - a Republican congress man from California, who is an occasional guest on HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher, apparently had the stupefying remark about 9/11 today. Saying the government shouldn't be paying benefits to those families who lost loved ones in the attacks because there was no bomb, no chemical or something of that sort. Moreover, he expressed the feeling that we shouldn't be required to pay for events like this in the future, or something. I unfortunately don't have the exact language, but it was laughable.

Not to mention the courts in NY and the city of NY hassling the professionals (firepeople, policepeople, emt's, etc) who tended to "ground zero" right after the attacks. These professionals should also get any and all medical care they need, no questions asked.
Proof that a California Republican, is still a Republican. OY!
