Are we starting this on sharks again?...seriously?

OH SHIT YO!!! There's a shark in the water!!!!!

Before I continue with my mock-fright...let's take a trip down memory lane. A trip back to the summer of 2001. The biggest stories of the day: Chandra Levy/Gary Condit "scandal", and shark attacks!!!!

Some dude, a triathlete who was also 66 years old...66 is 66 ya'll...triathlete or no triathlete...and a shark is a shark...was killed when he was attacked Friday by what authorities believe to have been a great white shark.

1. Sharks do live in the water/ocean.
2. Sharks are attracted by fluttery things on the surface that look like tasty treats.
3. Sharks are not attacking people deliberately.
4. There are, on average, a whopping 4 deaths per year as a result of shark attacks.

But, despite these fundamental truths...the media is coming close to losing their collective minds, yet again. Beaches have been closed in So. Cal. And what is more pathetic, helicopters are in a search for said shark who attacked the man in question.

Do we not have better things to do? It was 1 shark attack...call me when there is 2 in the same area, then we may have a problem with a specific shark. We have enough problems wasting fossil fuels, flying helicopters around and around in search of a random shark they are not likely to find seems like a ridiculous waste of governmental resources and energy resources.

When are we going to get it? Sharks are animals, grizzly bears are animals, and freaking tigers are animals.

Leave this shark alone. Don't kill "Rocky", the "trained" grizzly bear, who attacked his "trainer" this past week resulting in his death. Just like Siegfried and Roy found out, wild animals are...HAHA...wild.

If you make the CHOICE to bring these animals into your domain, you have it coming if/when they've had enough of your song and dance routine, and decide to lop off your head.

I'm sorry to be so cold-blooded, but these are reasons why they invented the Darwin Awards. People SO tremendously stupid, they are literally ASKING, if not BEGGING, for their lives to end.

Give the animals a medal. It's the least we can do for continuing to infringe our houses, our "developments", on their habitat. I do believe they were here first.

Finally, lest the media tempt fate and go on this shark attack rampage scare-a-thon again. Last time, it resulted in a sobering reminder of what is truly important when the country was attacked in September of the same year. This is not meant to refer totally to the Condit story, as the Levy disappearance was a real story, but the media was all about the sex more than the poor girl.

P.S. I just feel sick. I completely apologize for using the 9/11 event in this way...I puke in my mouth anytime I hear a politician use it. So, I will leave the words stand, but disregard the reference...because that was a bit too sanctimonious...even for me.
