Liberal Radio - The Rhodes Suspension

As a self-identified Liberal, Liberal Radio is something I listen to...occasionally. My girl, Rachel Maddow, I listen to off and on depending on how much time I have during the day and the other priorities of podcasts I have lined up.

If I could get the zany Stephanie Miller on my iPod without paying her, I would listen to her show most likely. I've heard Ed Schultz's show on occasion when I catch it on terrestrial radio. He's got a decent show, but I never has grabbed me. I've also listened to the Randi Rhodes show.

Rhodes, who was suspended today by Air America Radio, harbors the same problem I had with the Nation magazine when I was a subscriber. Although I like Katrina vanden Heuvel as a person and as a commentator on shows like Maher, Charlie Rose, her magazine I felt was lacking something.

Maybe I'd have the same issue with whacko-Republicans if I listened to their shows, but I just found Rhodes to be beyond the pale. Maddow usually has intelligent debate with experts and the like, but everytime I found Shultz or especially Rhodes...she was in the middle of a colossal bitch-fest. Not to mention the whining about general shit. Stop whining, start acting, sound strong, don't sound weak and helpless. And I think these liberal shows make Democrats weak, by whining incessantly, instead of providing real solutions and bringing on REAL movers and shakers who can get shit done. The Republicans have made a killing on acting strong, being perceived as strong, and thus have won elections with shitty values, and even shittier policy.

Moreover, I felt the data/facts they delivered were skewed. They felt skewed. It felt like they were always whining. Whereas I can imagine the Republicans have similarly skewed (read, "whacked") data/"facts."

I want reasoned, logical debate where we can look at several data sources, and have honest discussion between reasonable people who may have alternate views and reasonable stats/data/facts. If there were a radio channel that was called, The Debate Channel, that would entice me. But, real debate.

I obviously hadn't heard Randi's shows recently. So, I'm going on the press release issued by Air America, concerning their indefinite suspension of Rhodes.

However, Rhodes should be suspended if she said what the reports say she did say. And she needs to take a good long, hard look in the mirror and start cleaning, washing her hands. For she apparently has become what she must dislike the most, a venom-spewing Republican-like snake who spits meaningless crap at Democrats to distract them from the real issues.
