Earnings

Okay, 12 days ago the media was all up in arms over the reported earnings of the Clinton's when they "finally" released their tax returns.

This was the combined income of two very powerful people, who got large sums of money for their books, and as an ex-President and ex-First Lady they were well compensated for their "speeches" or "appearances."

I expect to hear/see the same slight bit of outrage at Obama's reported income of $4.2 million in 2007. Uh, since when do junior Senators make millions of dollars?

As I've written here before, I generally don't care how much someone makes (I do care HOW they made it though, Mr. Cheney). But, if the media is going to go ape-shit over the Clinton's earnings, I expect some serious discussion and investigative reporting on how Obama, a relative unknown until just 2 years ago, made that much money in a year when he was supposedly campaigning for the highest office in the land.

And don't feed me the line that Obama really became 'known' after delivering the keynote to the Democrat convention in 2004.

This is not to diminish or disregard the contributions of Michelle, but there has to be some questions raised here.
