More about the derby

All the reasons were explain in the previous post as to why I think animal racing of any type should be outlawed completely. The reasons I sight in the previous post, are enough for me to make that call. But, this is a kicker...

Apparently, as heard on a radio show I podcast...not only do they train/breed these horses to race, where they have big bodies with those tiny little legs...but, they also shoot up the animals before the race with a drug that essentially doesn't allow them to feel pain.

This could explain why Belles ran to her death in the derby...after breaking the ankles, she didn't feel the pain due to it being "shot up."

Look, I have some concerns when players in sports do it, but in the case of people, they knowingly have the free will to take or not take the shot.

This practice with the horses is also only allowed in America, and is not allowed in other horse-racing countries like the UK.

This addition, only adds to the brutality of the sport. Oy!
