Darwin and race cars

I'm about to post something perhaps highly myopic, sinister, and dreadful...but I'm not here to be cute-n-fuzzy:

I think of NASCAR, Indy Car, "Funny Car", and other high-speed car racing as a Darwinian contest of sorts.

Two days ago, a funny car driver died (Scott Kalitta) when his "car" blew up in flames. I have little compassion for him. I find nothing in a race that are drag races to the tune of 300+mph funny. I find nothing endearing or particularly impressive about a driver of such a "car." Nothing but a glorified "my penis is bigger than yours" contest, where everyone loses because everyone's clearly a fuckwit.

Nor do I feel compassion for those who get whacked driving other types of cars at ridiculously high speeds. Much like golf, racing is not a sport. And unlike those horses who die everyday on race tracks around this land, these knuckleheads had the power of free will.

If you don't have sense enough to realize that you really shouldn't be driving anything on the ground that fast, then you deserve whatever ye get coming to you in my view.

After two deaths in 15 months, Eric Medlen & Kalitta, you'd think someone would wake the fuck up. In my view, these two morons were just begging to die, it was only a matter of time.
