War on Drugs my ass

I'll paint a picture for ya: A man commits a "drug-offense" 28 years ago...escapes from a now-closed prison less than 4 months into his term. The man who has escaped prison has led a generally clean life since, and he is busted by law enforcement officials, 28 years later after he admits he is the man in a prison picture from 1979 when approached by several agencies at his home...how stupid is that? True story.

Seriously? The man escaped prison, yeah. For a MINOR drug offense, and then he kept his nose clean for 28 years. 28 years of staying out of trouble, only to be finally busted 28 years later?...give the man a pardon on his term, and close the case.

Our prisons aren't overcrowded enough, and we have all the money in the world to spend. It's not like we're in a war or anything... The money spent by these agencies to track this dude down, could have been spent better elsewhere I imagine.
