TV Causes Violence in Kids. Typical argument we have been hearing for year among several politicians, including from some Democrats I really like.
I've always thought that the argument was flawed, despite the research. Well, here's more research that was done over the span of 20 years and 35,000 children. I tend to buy the results and believe there's more to children being violent more than television.
Children don't suddenly become violent by watching tv, it's not an osmosis thing. Children become violent because they are frustrated, angry about something and they lack the skills to express that anger properly with words, pictures, or controlling it in some other way. TV just shows them many ways to express that anger, but I don't think that's enough to call TV executives on the carpet. I have always been, and will always be, a believer in PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY!!! If you don't want to take the time to raise your spawn appropriately, don't bother having them.
