Public Schools = unfair punching bag

This article from MSNBC highlights just one of many reasons that schools around the country are suffering to meet the needs of all students and are not hitting the "proper" test scores.

As this economy continues to tank, thanks to Dubya's stewardship (*cough*), this problem will become worse and other related issues will develop.

As a teacher in a public school, I have come accustomed to being a punching bag by all sorts of those in government. But, my tolerance is increasingly waning.

Spend a day in my shoes; dealing with kids who are half-dressed, come with no snack, hungry because they had no real breakfast, and sleepy because they're bodes with thin walls and their parental unit is up late watching the latest white-trash TV show.
