Imagery and Politics

Ever since the Kennedy-Nixon debates back in the 1960 Presidential Campaign, images have become the hallmark of electoral politics.

I don't applaud this reality, I just accept it.

But, for any serious Democrat today, seeing the imagery coming from Obama's tour in Berlin, Germany, is powerful stuff. He looks Presidential, he looks like a leader who intends to bring not just American's together, but the world. Slight haunts of Kennedy here...powerful stuff.

Compared to McCain and Pres. Bush 41 getting out of a golf cart where Bush 41 looks younger than McCain...that's damning.
